The action kicked off when chip leader Jacobus Mouton opened, second in chip lead Michael Falcon called, and big blind Julien Jobard shoved for 25,000. Both Mouton and Falcon made the call to see a flop of Q♦ 9♠ 2♣ . Mouton led out for 17,000 and Falcon called.

Heads-up preflop action between Yonghong Si and Anthony Lewis built a pot of around 7,300. Si fired 7,000 on the flop 9♣ 6♣ 6♥ and followed up with another 18,000 on the turn Q♦ , both of which were called by Lewis. Si then fired the last bullet on the river 5♣ and announced all in. Lewis went into the tank before committing his remaining chips.

Si turned over A♣ 2♣ for the rivered nut flush, while Lewis revealed K♠ K♦ as his kings were cracked. Si eliminated another opponent and continued his hot run, having just eliminated Quan Qiu in the previous level from the same seat now occupied by Lewis. Si is now sitting comfortably with more than three times the starting stack.

Both Qiu and Lewis immediately re-entered the tournament and were seated at different tables.

Day 1B Underway As Championship Warm Up Action Continues

The action continues today as Day 1B of the Championship Warm Up kicks off at 11:00 am local time. The event features a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool with a $600 buy-in.

Players start with a 50,000 starting stack, equivalent to 250 big blinds at Level 1. Blind levels are 40 minutes long, with 10-minute breaks every two hours. Late registration remains open for 9 levels and will close at the start of Level 10, approximately 6:00 pm local time.

Just like Day 1A, play today will not reach the money. A total of 15 levels will be played, after which all remaining players will bag their chips and return for Day 2 tomorrow at 11:30 am, where the money bubble will be in play. Day 2 will continue until only six players remain, who will then return for Day 3 with a chance to lift the newly designed WPT trophy.

Yesterday’s Day 1A attracted 124 entries, with only 22 players surviving after 15 levels of play. Ahmed Karrim led the field after bagging a massive 1,007,000 chips, finishing as the only player to end the day with a seven-figure stack.

In addition, Day 1C will also kick off today at 6:00 pm local time. This flight features the same starting stack but will be played in turbo format with 20-minute blind levels. Day 1C marks the final chance to qualify for Day 2 of the Championship Warm Up.
