Nikita Luther is a poker professional from Delhi, India. She was the first female from her country to win a World Series of Poker bracelet. Her young poker career comprises of WSOP deep runs plus various cashes around Asia. In late-June 2019, Luther finished second at the World Poker Tour’s – Zynga Poker WPT 500 – for US$ 109,300, the largest live tournament score of her career. In just a very short span of time, Luther has become a formidable player. She puts in plenty of time training by studying and analyzing videos, taking online courses, personal coaching, etc. Through her successes, she hopes to inspire other women to take up the sport.

While still in college, Nikita Luther learned the game of poker through friends however it wasn’t until a few years after did she switch from enjoying it as a hobby to a profession. With just two small cashes under her belt in 2015, she signed on with Indian online site adda52.com in 2016. Her first significant live earning came in 2017 finishing 5th out of 3,541 entrants at the WPT500 in ARIA for US$ 65,000. This also sprung her out of the shadows and into the larger public eye.

Several small wins followed until 2018 rolled in and she was back in Las Vegas. That year she cashed in four WSOP events with one of them a victory at the US$1,000 No Limit Hold’em Tag Team Event with Giuseppe Pantaleo. She earned US$ 87,902 to best her previous year’s five figure score. In October, she attended the APT Main Event and despite dominating at nearly every stage, she finished 11th out of 498 entrants for US$ 5,817.

2019 is shaping up to be another strong year for Luther. In February she shipped a title on home soil by overcoming the 187 field of the Deltin Poker Tournament 15K Deep Dive event. She earned US$ 9,531. Four months later, she returned to Las Vegas and was once again grabbing headlines. Luther finished 2nd out of 1,932 entries of the Zynga Poker WPT500 for US$ 109,300. This brought her to US$ 330K in live earnings.
