Neng Zhao has claimed the title of Won Poker Cup III Warm-Up Event Champion, securing the trophy after a deal and a decisive heads-up victory. The event drew 177 entries, generating an impressive prize pool of $85,845—well exceeding the $50,000 guarantee.

After an ICM deal was struck heads-up, Zhao locked in $16,475 while chip leader Jinlin Shi received $18,000. From there, the two battled solely for the title and the trophy. Though the match began on friendly terms, the intensity steadily grew as both players started to apply more pressure. In just 40 minutes, Zhao completed his remarkable run by dominating the final hand and clinching the win.

Final Day Recap

The Warm-Up Event successfully kicked off the Won Poker Cup III festival, doing exactly what its name promised—heating up the tables for what's to come. Day 1A attracted 95 entries, followed by 82 entries on Day 1B, combining for 177 total entries and surpassing the guarantee.

A total of 22 players returned for the Final Day, all already in the money. Among the notables in the field were Quang Huy Nguyen, Anzhela Vasylenko, and Khayal Abbasov—though the latter wasn’t able to reach the final table.

The final table was reached in under five hours, with Hoang Nam Nguyen bubbling it after being forced all-in with a critically short stack.

Out of 177 total entries across both starting flights, only 22 players remain. Vietnam’s Hoang Duy Nguyen leads the pack with a towering 796,000-chip stack, making him the clear frontrunner. He'll be the one to catch, and it won’t be easy—especially for Jin Lin, the Day 1B chip leader, who returns with 395,000, just half of Nguyen’s total.

But this isn’t a one-man race. The field is full of experienced contenders—“eagles,” ready to strike—who could easily turn the tide. Among them are Anzhela Vasylenko (353,000), the WPC II Ladies Champion, Quang Huy Nguyen (146,000), and Khayal Abbasov (197,000), all hungry for a deep run despite being behind in chips.

With the guaranteed prize pool surpassed at $85,845, every returning player is already guaranteed a minimum payout of $996. But all eyes are on the $20,955 top prize—and the prestigious WPC trophy that comes with it.
