After twelve hours of intense action, the Super Stack event finally crowned its champion, with Alexis Lim emerging victorious. Lim topped a strong field of 219 entries, claiming the coveted Spadie and PHP 582,076 (~US$ 10,112) after defeating Jesper Henrich heads-up.

The PHP 1 Million guarantee was crushed even before the first break, and by the time registration closed, the prize pool soared to PHP 2,804,076 (~US$ 47,530), nearly triple the guarantee. Lim played patiently at the final table, picking his spots, and when the momentum shifted in his favor, he navigated perfectly to capture the title. Dominating the heads-up duel with relentless pressure, Lim secured his 7th Spadie.

Alexis Lim's Words

When asked how he felt after winning the Super Stack, Alexis Lim said, "I felt relieved that the tournament was finally over. I’ve been running bad the past few years, but 2025 has been good so far, and I hope this streak continues."

On his strategy at the final table, he explained, "When we were three-handed, I was the shortest stack, so I had to play more aggressively. The other two players didn’t want to clash because they expected to face each other heads-up, which gave me the chance to shove and build my stack.

I doubled through Kim a couple of times and got lucky that none of his outs hit. Then I found pocket kings at a key moment, survived another sweat, and that’s when my momentum really started."

Talking about heads-up play, he said, "I already knew how Henrich played since we had been at the same table before. I understood his tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses, and with the right hands and the boards falling in my favor, I was able to secure the win."

Bubble - Anthony Gabitan

Only 31 players reached the money. Anthony Gabitan became the unfortunate bubble boy after being forced all in from the big blind. Keijiro Shimojo’s pocket fours held against Gabitan’s overcards to burst the bubble. It took barely an hour from that point to reach the final table, sealed when Kyungsoo Kim eliminated Lukasz Jankowski in 10th place.

Kim entered the final table as the chip leader, with Henrich close behind, and it didn’t take long before the first casualty. Shimojo exited in 9th place after losing a flip with pocket nines against Kim’s ace-king, which paired on the flop.

Next out was Zhi Xiang Png in 8th place at the hands of Lim. Png initially caught help on the flop with ace-ten, but Lim’s ace-queen rivered one of his three outs to score the elimination.

One of the most brutal blows came when Yonghyun Park fell in 7th place. Park got his aces cracked after Henrich completed a one-card flush on the river.

Henrich followed up by eliminating Amir Alimkulov in 6th place, making a strong hero call with king-high against a flop bluff that got no help on the runout.

Henrich stayed hot, knocking out Artiom Dinda in 5th place when his queen-four paired the flop to crack Dinda’s pocket eights.

Short-stacked Reynaldo Ong bowed out next, falling to Lim after defending the big blind with seven-deuce.

Kyungsoo Kim

Three-handed play saw Lim as the shortest stack, but he scored a massive double up through Kim and later delivered the knockout himself. Lim’s kings held firm against Kim’s ace-five suited, sending Kim out in 3rd place.

Heads-Up

Entering heads-up with a slight lead over Henrich, Lim slowly tightened his grip, applying steady pressure as the blinds escalated. The final hand came with Lim holding queen-ten against Henrich’s king-jack. Though behind preflop, Lim paired his ten on the flop and improved to trips on the river to secure the victory.

Alexis Lim rises once again, now a seven-time Spadie winner after a masterful performance in the Super Stack.

Straight Flush for Henrich (nearly)

Button Alexis Lim raised to 300,000 and big blind Jesper Henrich made it 820,000 with a three-bet. Lim thought for a while before grabbing a couple more of his red 25,000 chips and putting in a 1,500,000 four-bet. Henrich decided not to make the call, losing a considerable amount of chips in the exchange.

A few hands later, the dealer button was on Henrich, who limped in before Lim checked his option.

The dealer fanned the 6♦ 2♦ A♥ flop and Lim check-called Henrich’s 160,000 bet. Action checked through the remainder of the 4♦ 3♦ runout, and the rail and onlookers seemed to be hoping someone had the sneaky 5♦ in their hole cards.

During showdown, Henrich produced a five, but it was the 5♠, still enough to take down the pot with a straight and claim back some valuable chips.

On the K♠ 6♣ 8♣ flop, both Png and Park checked before Henrich fired out 100,000. Png quickly got out of the way, but once the action was back on Park he tanked before ultimately check-raising to 350,000. Henrich glanced at his cards and continued to mull over his decision before eventually announcing to the dealer that he was all in for around 2,000,000 he had behind.
