Main Event - Final Day - Live Updates

After a quick four hour final table gameplay, Norway’s Henrik Tollefsen claimed the victory along with the PHP 5,651,000 top prize following a heads up deal. Tollefsen cruised through, not once relinquishing his lead to dominate the final games. Tollefsen takes with him an APPT Main Event package valued at PHP 120,000 and a second career PokerStars Main Event title.

Cutoff Chang Jae Yi open shoved for 960,000 with K♥ J♦ and was called by Jeremy Catalig with A♦ Q♠ . In for a race, the board A♥ 5♥ 4♠ 2♦ 5♣ offered no help for Chang, leaving him out of the running.

Utg+1 Jeremy Catalig opened to 250,000, joined by both players on the blinds on flop K♥ K♣ T♠ . All three checked the flop through, revealing turn T♠ . Checked once more to Catalig, he bet 200,000, called by Chang Jae Yi. River 4♣ this time, saw Chang lead for 550,000, snap called by his opponent. Chang reveals A♣ Q♦ and is crushed against Catalig’s full house K♠ J♠ .

Utg+1 Chang Jae Yi opened to 300,000 and was met with two all-ins - Jeremy Catalig (1,420,000) and John Paul Flores with a bigger stack. Chang puts in the fold, showing A♣ K♥ .

Hijack Alvin Jeff Sembrano opened to 200,000 and was followed by a three bet to 725,000 from Chang Jae Yi behind. Sembrano tank folds and Chang claims the boost.

Hijack Jose Cheung open shoved for 530,000 with K♦ Q♠ and was called by big blind Chang Jae Yi with Q♣ 9♣ . Dominated, Chang slips down once more after the board K♠ J♦ 3♣ A♠ 6♦ secured Cheung the win.

Utg+2 Chen Jingliang opened to 250,000, called by Chang Jae Yi behind. Cutoff Morikawa Yuta shoved all-in, covering both opponents. Both players make the fold, shipping Morikawa the pot.

The first hand of the day saw Chang Jae Yi open to 250,000 from utg against Henrik Tollefsen’s big blind. Tollefsen shoved all-in, leaving Chang to use up two time banks before throwing in the fold.

The final nine for the Manila Megastack 18 Main Event is set with Norway’s Henrik Tollefsen in the forefront, stacking a 9,595,000 (95 BB) chip count. Tollefsen rose to the top ranks after delivering three straight eliminations on the last hour of the day. Final table plays down to a champion tomorrow, listing a whopping PHP 6,290,000 top prize, inclusive of the PHP 120,000 APPT Main Event package. Each returning player is now guaranteed a minimum payout of Php 569,345.

Utg Chang Jae Yi raised all-in and saw big blind Paulsen Kai call off his last 1,000,000 with A♣ A♦ . Chang is behind with 9♥ 9♣ but quickly turned the tables after his two outer showed up on 9♠ K♦ 6♦ J♥ 4♦ to send Paulsen out.

Cutoff Chang Jae Yi open shoved his last 940,000 with 6♥ 6♣ and ran right into big blind John Paul Flores’ K♠ K♣ . Drawing to two outs, Chang was in luck after the board K♥ 5♦ 9♥ 7♠ 8♠ rolled a straight to spare him from elimination.

Small blind Chang Jae Yi opened to 190,000 and called a three bet to 420,000 from big blind Jeremy Catalig. On flop 4♠ K♠ 7♥ , Catalig continued for 300,000, Chang with a check fold.

Facing an open and a three bet, big blind Jose Ruzzel shoved his 375,000 in with A♦ K♥ and was called by Chang Jae Yi with Q♣ Q♥ . A classic NLH flip, the board K♠ J♠ 3♣ 5♦ 7♦ quickly gave Jose top pair, earning him the 28 BB pot.

Main Event - Flight C - Live Updates

Today’s Main Event Flight C recorded the biggest turnout with a smashing 372 entries recorded across ten levels of registration. It took close to twelve hours on the floor before the 56 qualifier pack was set led by Philippines’ Ryan Jerico Platon. Platon stood to be the chip leader by the time registration closed and managed to preserve his big stack all the way through. Platon delivered a crushing bust in the last hour to amass more chips and claim the top spot for today’s flight.
