Seokyoung LeeFlight C delivered the fastest structure of the Main Event, with two 60-minute levels of late registration before the pace accelerated to 20-minute levels. The quick turnaround suited the evening crowd, and the field was whittled down rapidly as stacks began to separate.
From 42 entries, only six players would advance, and by the time the final table was reached, Seokyoung Lee, known as Tiger, had emerged as the dominant stack and constant pressure point.
Alan Lau was the first elimination at the final table, getting his ace-king cracked by Shun Yi Zheng’s ace-queen when a straight arrived on the river. Zheng stayed hot and soon sent Gyeongbyeong Lee to the bubble, winning with eight-seven against pocket jacks after a straight completed on the board.
With seven players remaining and one spot left before the money, Lee continued to apply pressure. In one notable hand, he folded pocket nines after tanking through several time extensions when facing a four-bet from Tom Verbruggen, who later revealed a single five.
Zheng’s run came to a stop when Kevin Choi’s ace-jack came out on top against pocket jacks after an ace hit the flop. Zheng then lost another key showdown with pocket sixes against Chung Howe Sean Tan’s pocket eights, sending his stack into freefall.
Before the bubble burst, Nirunrut Rachburom doubled through Choi after calling off her stack with jack-ten on a board that paired on the river, defeating Choi’s queen-ten.
The flight concluded with Kevin Choi eliminating Zheng, winning with jack-ten against ace-seven after improving on the river, locking up the final qualifiers from Flight C.
