Matthias Lipp Comes Out On Top of Flight 1D

The final opening flight of the APT Main Event has entered the history books, with Austria's Matthias Lipp topping the board at 345,000 chips. A total of 190 entries were recorded, and only 88 players successfully advanced to Day 2.
After four thrilling opening flights, the entry number climbed to 1,146 from the four opening flights, with numbers expected to grow as registration remains open just right until before Day 2 begins. A total of 377 players bagged up chips from the flights and will come back tomorrow at 11pm to play until the money has been reached.

Following Lipp in Chips is Vietnamese player Ngoc Huyen Quach. She finished the day with a strong stack of 223,000. Yuji Tsuboi completed flight D's podium with 185,000 chips. Other notables to make it through the final flight of the Main event include high roller Yoon Koo Kang (147,700), Philippines own Renniel Galvez (136,800), and Junnie Pamplona (136,500), as well as poker youtuber Greg "Greg Goes All In" Liow. After making a great hero call late in Day 1, he will be excited to come back tomorrow for Day 2 with 66,900 chips.

Fedyk Dialed In On Pamplona

Junnie Pamplona raised to 3,000 from the button and Nazariy Fedyk defended the big blind.
Both players were given a flop of 2♣ 3♥ 8♦
Fedyk checked his option, allowing Pamplona to fire 3,200. Fedyk then raised it to 10,000. Pamplona stared intently at Fedyk and made the call.
Dealer peeled open 5♦ on the turn. Fedyk fired 12,000 and Pamplona made the call.

Both players checked.
Fedyk showed K♦ 8♣ for a pair of eights while Pamplona mucked.
In the following hand, Pamplona raised from the cut-off to 2,700. Fedyk made the call on the small blind and Frederick Hernandez defended the big blind.

The blinds checked to Pamplona who fired 4,500. Fedyk called and Hernandez stayed away.
The turn came Q♦ and both players checked to open a T♣ on the river.
Fedyk led out for 11,000 and Pamplona couldn't do anything but surrender.

Villa's Unconventional Line
Hernan Villa limped from early-position and the Ukrainian Fedyk Nazariy made it 1,300 from the button. Villa called preflop, and also check-called the 1,000 bet on T♠ 9♣ 4♦ .
The 4♥ was the turn and Nazariy bet again, this time 2,200. Villa responded with an unconventional raise to 5,200. Nazariy called and 5♥ appeared on the river. Both players slowed down and checked. Villa tabled A♣ 5♣ , but he could not beat Nazariy's K♦ T♥ .
