Dongying Ling Leads Fourth And Final Opening Flight Of The APT Incheon 2025 Main Event

The final opening flight of the APT Incheon 2025 Main Event has entered the history books, with Singapore's Dongying Ling topping the board at 239,500 chips. A total of 192 entries (156 unique) were recorded, and only 95 players successfully advanced to Day 2.
After four thrilling opening flights, the entry number climbed to 1,200 from the four opening flights, with numbers expected to grow as registration remains open just right until before Day 2 begins. This marks this tournament already as the Asian Poker Tour's largest and richest Korean-based Main Event. A total of 431 players bagged up chips from the flights and will come back tomorrow at 11pm to play until the money has been reached.

Closely following Ling in chips is Japan national Takumi Bando. He finished the day with a strong stack of 230,300. Selim Oulmekki completed flight D's podium with 201,600 chips. Other notables to make it through the final flight of the Main event include Singapore's Yeow Chung Chong (157,600) Thailand's Phachara Wongwichit (111,100), and Joris Michl (68,200).

Tanaka Applies Pressure to Close the Day Strong

With only a few hands left to play in the flight, Hideo Sawai opened from early position and was immediately three-bet to 10,000 by Shinji Tanaka on his direct left. Sawai made the call, and the two went heads-up to the flop.
The dealer spread out A♦ K♣ J♦, and Tanaka continued his line with a 10,000-chip continuation bet. Sawai didn’t back down just yet and made the call.
The turn brought the 6♠, and after Sawai checked, Tanaka turned up the pressure with a sizable 25,000-chip bet. That was enough to get the fold and secure a late pot to end his day on a strong note.

Susumu Wakamiya opened to 2,700 from middle position and Dongying Lin called from the hijack.
Wakamiya checked on the 9♠ J♣ 7♦ flop, and Ling led out for 4,100. Wakamiya check-called.
After seeing the 9♥ turn, Wakamiya check-called again to the bet of 6,000 from Ling.
The 3♠ filled out the board and Wakamiya checked. Ling sent his third barrel of 10,000. Wakamiya came along.

Susumu Wakamiya opened the cutoff to 2,800 and got himself two callers: Dongying Ling on the button, and Phachara Wongwichit in the small blind.

Inoue Turns Up The Heat Late In The Day
We picked up the action on the turn with Yaxiong Xu on the button betting 4,000 into a pot of 8,800. His opponent, Satoru Inoue in the small blind, responded with a raise to 16,000. Xu thought it over and made the call.
The river completed the board: 9♥ 8♥ 8♦ Q♦ K♦
Inoue didn't slow down and moved all-in for 31,000. The shove put Xu in a tough spot. After burning his final time bank, he decided to lay it down. Inoue was kind enough to show J♥ T♥.

Bando's Hooks Take Down the Pot
With around 12,000 chips in the pot, a board ran out 8♠ 8♦ 7♥ K♥ Q♠. Hideo Sawai bet 7,000 from the big blind after tanking for a long time. Takumi Bando stuck around from middle position.
Hideo Sawai revealed J♥ 9♥, and it wasn’t enough against the Bando’s winner holding J♠ J♣, shipping the pot Bando’s way.

Okamoto Lets It Go on the River

Mitsuo Zushi raised to 3,000 from under the gun and got three calls; Shunichi Okamoto in middle position, Zhen Cui in the small blind and Ianis Mozhelis in the big blind, and they headed four-ways to the flop.
The dealer fanned 5♥ 6♠ 4♣ and Cui checked; Mozhelis put out a 5,000 bet which got folds from Zushi and Cui, only Okamoto made the call.
Action slowed on the J♦ turn, and when the 7♦ completed the board Mozhelis fired off a further 10,000 into the middle. After a moment of deliberation Okamoto slid his cards into the middle and Mozhelis was pushed the pot.

Flush Over Straight Ends Hayashi’s Tournament

Tomita Finds Quads and Holds in Massive Pot

Tetsuro Tomita made it 3,000 to go from early position and received calls from the blinds: Shunichi Okamoto and Lloyd Fontillas.
On the monotone flop of J♠ A♣ 7♣, the blinds checked to Tomita, who continued with a bet of 1,200. Only Fontillas stuck around.
Okamoto then checked on the board-pairing 7♥ turn, and Tomita sent another barrel of 8,300. Okamoto responded with a shove for around 192,000; however, this didn't deter Tomita from making the call with his remaining 14,500.

Yuichi Sumida and Vladimir Khodov got it all in preflop, acting from the cutoff and button, respectively. Small blind Yasuhiro Yamamoto asked for a count of their stacks (15,000 & 9,300) before weighing up whether to get involved or not. Eventually he made the call and the three turned over their cards:

Komori Gets Full Value with Overpair

Toru Wakamatsu opened from middle position, picking up three callers — Maito Komori on the button and both blinds.
The flop of 9♦ 6♣ 2♦ was checked to Wakamatsu, who continued for 4,000. Only Komori called.
The 6♥ on the turn saw Wakamatsu fire again, this time for 13,000. Komori responded with a shove worth 39,400 total. After some deliberation, Wakamatsu made the call, having his opponent covered.

Gankhuyag Forces Fold with Relentless River Bet
Batbayar Gankhuyag opened the cutoff to 2,000 and got himself three callers: Soichiro Hayashi on the button, Peng Zhou from the small blind, and Selim Oulmekki from the big blind.
On the flop of 3♣ A♣ 3♥, the blinds checked to Gankhuyag, who continued for 2,700. Only Hayashi called.
Gankhuyag sent another barrrel of 5,600 on the 2♠ turn, and Hayashi stuck around.
After seeing a board-pairing 2♥ hit on the river, Gankhuyag fired again, this time 10,300. It was hefty enough to force a fold from Hayashi.

When the board-pairing Q♥ filled out the board, Wong sent a bet of 2,000. Nomura called to take it to a showdown.
Wong revealed K♥ 8♥ for king-high, but it wasn't enough to best ace-high from Nomura's A♣ K♣.

Yagi Takes It with Three Kings on the Board

Both players opted to check, and the K♠ hit the turn. Kim checked again, prompting a delayed continuation bet of 2,700 from Jiang. Kim called without much hesitation.
The 4♣ completed the board on the river. After another check from Kim, Jiang sized up to 7,700. Kim burned a time bank before announcing all-in for his remaining 25,000 chips.
Jiang paused briefly but ultimately tossed his hand into the muck, conceding the pot to Kim’s well-timed river aggression.

Ace-Kings Hold Strong in Three-Way All-In; Kyogoku Hits the Rail

One three-way all-in pot just played out, ending with one elimination and a chop.
Batbayar Gankhuyag raised to 1,600 from middle position, only to be jammed by Tatsuya Kyogoku for 12,500. Nattamon Kaweesorasak also moved all in for 59,700. The action went back to Gankhuyag, who took only a few seconds to respond with another shove for 15,100.

Ikeda Gets Some Value with Rivered Trips

Wai Choi opened from early position and found three callers, taking four players to the flop.

However, the river brought another 8♥, and Tsuyoshi Ikeda in the big blind finally broke the silence, firing 2,500 into the pot. Both Chun Ma and Tomokatsu Kumano made the call.
Ikeda turned over 8♦ 6♦ for rivered trips, which was enough to drag the pot as neither opponent could beat it.

Yamada's Flush Doubles Through Wang
The action kicked off with Xiaoyi Wang opening from middle position, picking up a single caller in Hiroki Yamada on the button.
The flop came down K♥ 9♠ 6♦, and Wang fired a continuation bet of 1,800. Yamada called without much hesitation.
On the A♥ turn, Wang kept up the pressure with a 5,500-chip bet, again getting a call.
The river paired the board with the 9♥, and Wang bet once more — this time for 7,000. That’s when Yamada sprung into action, moving all-in for 24,000. The shove sent Wang deep into the tank, but after some thought, he made the call.

Soichiro continued for a further 9,000 once the dealer flipped over the 7♠ 3♣ 5♥ flop. Nobuhiro made the call.
Soichiro then fired off an 18,000 bet; Nobuhiro responded in turn by moving all in for the remainder of their stack - around 20,000 - to which Soichiro couldn't find the call and let it go.

Zenya Yamamoto raised to 1,500 from under the gun and Shiji Tanaka defended his big blind.
Tanaka check-called to a bet of 2,000 from Yamamoto on the 2♠ 5♥ 2♥ flop to see the 4♠ fall on the turn, where Tanaka checked over. Yamamoto then responded with a shoved for 14,400. Yamamoto snap-called to put his countryman at risk.

Small Bet Gets The Job Done On The River For Cui
We picked up the action on the turn with 21,000 already in the middle. The board read A♦ 8♥ 8♠ 4♥, and it was Chenglong Cui in the small blind up against Mitsuo Zushi in middle position. Both players opted to check the turn, sending the hand to the river.
The Q♦ completed the board, and Cui led out for a modest 7,000. Zushi took a moment to consider the price but ultimately slid his cards into the muck, allowing Cui to take down the pot without showdown.

It folded around to Chang Liu on the button, who opened it up, but got instantly three-bet by Ryuta Nakai next to him. Liu made the call and we were off to the flop.
This came down J♥ 7♠ 7♦, but action slowed down as both players checked their option. The turn was the 4♦ and the preflop three-better Nakai checked once more. Now Liu took a stab at the pot with a bet of 6,000. This was called by Nakai.
The K♥ completed the board, and once again both players checked. Nakai tabled over A♠ Q♦ for the winning hand. Liu showed A♦ 8♦ for a weaker ace-high.

Ganghuyag Flops A Straight
We arrived at the table on the turn where a big pot was brewing between Batbayar Gankhuyag and Tatsuya Kyogoku, both sitting in late-position. There were 14,000 chips in the middle, and the board read A♠ 5♦ 3♦ 9♦. However, seemingly the third diamond must have scared the opponents as both players elected to check.
The river was the Q♠ and Gankhuyag bet out for an amount of 6,500. Kyogoku threw in the calling chips, but had to concede the pot, after Ganghuyag tabled over 4♠ 2♠ for a flopped straight.

Jiang Smelled Weakness Multiway

Maito Komori from Japan opened it up from middle-position and got four other players interested in seeing a flop.
This came down A♣ K♦ 2♠, but none of the five players wanted to put any money into the pot, so the all checked it through to see a free turn.
This was another A♥ and again, everybody elected to check.
The 9♣ completed the board and Ming Jiang smelled weakness and tried to take down the pot with a bet of 2,500. Unfortunately for him, the original opener, Komori made the call and Jiang had to show his Q♠ 3♣ bluff. Komori revealed K♠ Q♠ to take down the pot.

It folded around to Yuicho Nakase on the button, who opened the action. Wai Choi defended his big blind with a three-bet, and Nakase made the call.

On the 4♥ turn, both players slowed down and checked.
The river brought the 5♣, and once again, both players checked it through. Choi revealed A♣ K♠, but it wasn’t enough to beat Nakase’s A♠ J♠, who took down the pot with top pair.

The action started with a middle-position open to 600 by the Japanese player Horimoto Kosuke. Only Ngai Chim in the small-blind wanted to see a flop.
This came down Q♦ 9♠ 4♦. Chim checked, and Kosuke put out a 500 chips continuation bet. Chim made the call.
The turn was the K♣ and Kosuke once more bet out, this time for 1,000. Once more Chim made the call.
The river was the 3♥ and after Chim checked it once more over to Kosuke, he decided to slow down and check back to the displeasure of Chim who tabled over J♠ T♥ for a nut straight.

Set on the Flop Secures the Pot for Shcherbakov

The hand began with an early-position raise by Roman Shcherbakov, which was quickly met with a three-bet from Yasuhiro Yamamoto on his direct left. Shcherbakov made the call, taking the two players to the flop.
The dealer spread Q♣ 6♦ 2♣, and after a check from Shcherbakov, Yamamoto continued with a bet of 1,200. The Russian made the call.
The 5♥ hit the turn, and this time Shcherbakov took control of the betting, firing 2,400. Yamamoto didn’t take long before calling once again.
On the T♣ river, Shcherbakov led out for a modest 2,000. Yamamoto instantly called — but he was in for a surprise. Shcherbakov turned over 2♦ 2♥ for a flopped set, which was enough to scoop the pot.

Late-position player Yuji Tsubo opened it up, and got three-bet small by the Hong Kongese Tsan Li next to him on the button. The Japanese player made the call and they went heads-up to the Q♠ 9♥ 6♥ flop.
On this Li continued with a bet of 600. His opponent made the call, and the turn brought the J♥. After Tsubo's check, Li continued his aggression with a bet of 1,200. His Japanese did not go anywhere and made the call.
The river was the 6♣ and this time Li decided it was enough value and checked back his K♠ K♦, which was good enough to beat Tsubo's J♦ T♠.
